Product-Market Fit is like, at some point, “Now we’ve got it!” It sounds like it's over and done with, but in reality, it's a concept that needs to be constantly measured and explored throughout the entire startup process.

If you are an early startup and do not have data such as NPS or retention yet, approach the next step.

  1. Founder-Problem Fit
  • Clearly define why the founder wants to solve this problem.
  1. Problem-Value Fit
  • Find out if people are willing to pay to solve this problem.
  1. Value-Prototype Fit
  • Testing whether early prototypes provide value to customers.
  1. Prototype-Pilot Fit
  • Test prototypes in real markets and collect feedback.
  1. Pilot-Growth Fit
  • Determine whether an actual growth model can be created after feedback.

It is especially important to check Problem-Value Fit.
